[When Ieyasu had pressed him about what sorts of things and relationships he'd experienced before meeting him, he hadn't meant for him to take 'Ask Kanetsugu!' literally.

Except Kanetsugu called him after work to tell him that Ieyasu had called to ask, and so, like a good friend, Kanetsugu had told him some juicy stories.

Mitsunari made a mental note to get back at him somehow.

But right.

....he's thinking it's approaching storytime now, as he opens the door to their apartment and sets his bag aside.]

[.......hmm.

He presses a lingering kiss to Ieyasu's lips--

And his tongue darts out to taste Ieyasu's lips as well, but then he is pulling back.

HE'S NOT DONE WITH STORY TIME, HASUBANDO. You're gonna have to do better than that to distract him.]

Well, I get to ask another then. Most recent relationship, before this one?

[tokugawa]

[.... pffffffff.]

Free-spirited beauty- model actually. It was a very light-hearted relationship but I adored her. Nearly asked her to move in with me, actually....

But her schedule became too hectic so she had to go- I respect that since she was always so whimsical. [a slight sigh] She broke up with me for the sake of not being tied down.

[back to cuddles now?]

[Wow that's--

...maybe he would have been better off not asking.

It's been a light-hearted story exchange, but in this case it's the first time that the jealousy leaves him a little breathless. A mix of that and possessiveness and uncertainty--

A model. He'd adored her and almost asked her to move in with him. She'd broken up with him.

...hnn.

Yes, okay, cuddles. It helps him not show just how uncertain he's feeling at that information.]

...That must have been quite the relationship...

[tokugawa]

It was fun, I suppose- lasted no more than a few months though. [chuckles] I got rather impatient near the end of it. 

[but there's a slight pause...

and he presses a kiss to the top of Mitsunari's head, his cheek, his nose, his lips.]

I'm rather glad it didn't work out though...

As much as I liked her, I can't even begin to say how happy I am with the love of my life. 

[insultea]

[....Ah.

And he just leans against Ieyasu at that, smiling and nuzzling his boyfriend close.]

You'll have to forgive me for saying...but I'm glad these relationships didn't work out also...

[tokugawa]

[... a soft laugh and he presses another kiss to Mitsunari's lips.]

Only if I can say I'm glad as well. All of these just brought you to me. 

And I'd much rather have you in my arms than anyone else. 

[insultea]

[...ha. Mitsunari smiles faintly, pressing a kiss to Ieyasu's cheek contentedly.]

...Yes, you took the words right out of my mouth. I am quite glad.

[...a pause and he tilts his head against Ieyasu's chest.]

It is amazing how different our experiences were.

[tokugawa]

[A soft hum and he buries his face into Mitsunari's hair.]

We are remarkably different people....

But I have to make sure that you know I treasure your heart. [And a hand comes up to softly rest on Mitsunari's chest, a finger tracing a heart over where he feels the heartbeat.] And I always will.

[insultea]

[...you sure do know how to make your waifu melt, Ieyasu.

He blinks a few times--

And smiles, clearly touched.

And he returns the favor, lightly laying his palm on Ieyasu's chest where he can feel his fiance's heartbeat.]

I know you do. And you will always have my heart--and all of me.

[tokugawa]

Only fair trade.... since you have all of me. Mind, body, and soul. 

[gentle nuzzling followed up with a soft, sweet kiss]

[A hum, and he leans into the kiss--and then he breathes out quietly.]

...I love you.

[Absolutely more than he could ever put into words.

No matter what things he's experiences or been up to.]

[tokugawa]

Mmn..... I love you too. 

[A slight grin.]

Best relationship ever.... is definitely this one. 

[insultea]

Ah...absolutely.

Without a shred of doubt.

[He just cups Ieyasu's cheek in his hand again and breathes out slowly, content.]

Mm...definitely best relationship ever...and all I ever wanted at that.

[tokugawa]

[A slight laugh and he presses another kiss to Mitsunari's lips.]

I don't know what I'd do without you, you know...

[insultea]

[A thoughtful pause, and then--]

Good.

...Because I would be lost without you.

[He'd always been excellent at rebounding from broken relationships and broken hearts.

Only...here, he didn't think he'd be able to.]

[tokugawa]

[He hums softly.]

I'll never go anywhere. 

[insultea]

...I trust you. And I always will.

[That's really all he needs. He just leans forward, quietly pressing his lips to Ieyasu's.]

[tokugawa]

[A content hum in response to that before Ieyasu presses another kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.

And-]

By the way... your most recent relationship before this one?

[He's mostly heard about college days-]

[...oh.

Well. He considers that one, tilting his head.]

Well... Kanetsugu was trying to hook me up with someone at that party you crashed, which likely gives you an idea of how well relationships had been going at the time.

A few months before that...It was a relatively long-lasting relationship, I suppose. We'd been seeing each other steadily for the better part of a year, and she was a pretty, spunky woman.

...She was fun. It sounds strange to say, but...we had a good time going out and doing things.

[...Ffff.]

But as Kanetsugu would say, I am a workaholic and allow my nature to ruin what gifts are dropped into my lap.

[Can you almost imagine the air quotes. His tone is very dry at that.]

[tokugawa]

[.... Pffffff.]

Your loyalty is adorable and something I love about you- workaholic or not. It's admirable. I can't bring myself to care that much for work-

[But he shakes his head.]

She sounds lovely.... Do you still talk to her?

[insultea]

[...he chuckles quietly, propping his chin on Ieyasu's shoulder. And a murmur by his ear--]

...I'm relieved. If I had to choose...it would be very hard to discard my career.

[...his voice is shaky at that, because that's about as close to a confession that he would do it--

But then he focuses on their discussion again.]

Mm...on occasion. We left on a bad note, but since then we've mended things between us. She moved elsewhere, though.

[tokugawa]

[..... Ah.

That's.

...... A blink and Ieyasu sighs quietly before pressing a kiss to the top of Mitsunari's head, then murmuring into his ear.]

I love you too much to make you choose.... Of course you can have both- I want anything that makes you happy. 

[But he hums again, pressing a kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.]

That's good... I'm glad. 

[And he genuinely is. Such bonds should be treasured.]

[insultea]

[...a quiet breath out in response.]

...Thank you.

[And then he chuckles at Ieyasu's words.

Hasubando, you and your bonds.]

I'm not quite as capable as you; I don't think I could tell you my other girlfriends' favorite foods, though she enjoyed chicken.

[tokugawa]

[A nervous chuckle.]

I can't help but care for them still. Though I'm better about remembering the names of my recent girlfriends. 

[insultea]

[...it's okay, he thinks it's mostly endearing now.]

I understand. You do care for everyone you meet, after all.

[He just presses a quiet kiss to Ieyasu's cheek.]
