[When Ieyasu had pressed him about what sorts of things and relationships he'd experienced before meeting him, he hadn't meant for him to take 'Ask Kanetsugu!' literally.

Except Kanetsugu called him after work to tell him that Ieyasu had called to ask, and so, like a good friend, Kanetsugu had told him some juicy stories.

Mitsunari made a mental note to get back at him somehow.

But right.

....he's thinking it's approaching storytime now, as he opens the door to their apartment and sets his bag aside.]

Well. He considers that one, tilting his head.]

Well... Kanetsugu was trying to hook me up with someone at that party you crashed, which likely gives you an idea of how well relationships had been going at the time.

A few months before that...It was a relatively long-lasting relationship, I suppose. We'd been seeing each other steadily for the better part of a year, and she was a pretty, spunky woman.

...She was fun. It sounds strange to say, but...we had a good time going out and doing things.

[...Ffff.]

But as Kanetsugu would say, I am a workaholic and allow my nature to ruin what gifts are dropped into my lap.

[Can you almost imagine the air quotes. His tone is very dry at that.]

[tokugawa]

[.... Pffffff.]

Your loyalty is adorable and something I love about you- workaholic or not. It's admirable. I can't bring myself to care that much for work-

[But he shakes his head.]

She sounds lovely.... Do you still talk to her?

[insultea]

[...he chuckles quietly, propping his chin on Ieyasu's shoulder. And a murmur by his ear--]

...I'm relieved. If I had to choose...it would be very hard to discard my career.

[...his voice is shaky at that, because that's about as close to a confession that he would do it--

But then he focuses on their discussion again.]

Mm...on occasion. We left on a bad note, but since then we've mended things between us. She moved elsewhere, though.

[tokugawa]

[..... Ah.

That's.

...... A blink and Ieyasu sighs quietly before pressing a kiss to the top of Mitsunari's head, then murmuring into his ear.]

I love you too much to make you choose.... Of course you can have both- I want anything that makes you happy. 

[But he hums again, pressing a kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.]

That's good... I'm glad. 

[And he genuinely is. Such bonds should be treasured.]

[insultea]

[...a quiet breath out in response.]

...Thank you.

[And then he chuckles at Ieyasu's words.

Hasubando, you and your bonds.]

I'm not quite as capable as you; I don't think I could tell you my other girlfriends' favorite foods, though she enjoyed chicken.

[tokugawa]

[A nervous chuckle.]

I can't help but care for them still. Though I'm better about remembering the names of my recent girlfriends. 

[insultea]

[...it's okay, he thinks it's mostly endearing now.]

I understand. You do care for everyone you meet, after all.

[He just presses a quiet kiss to Ieyasu's cheek.]

[tokugawa]

[Now that's just. Asking for clarification-]

I suppose...

But you need to know I care for you the most. 

[insultea]

[...silly hasubando.]

I do know.

[Nuzzle]

And it makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world.

[tokugawa]

.... Well, so long as I get to share that with you.

[cuddling~]

[insultea]

We do seem to get to share everything now...

[hee...he just rests up against Ieyasu's chest, content to be cuddled close, and considers things.]

Mm...I think I've run out of questions to ask.

[tokugawa]

[.... Hm. Ieyasu merely tilts his head before chuckling.]

I'm just about done.

[...Ha. Mitsunari just chuckles as well, shaking his head.]

Thank you as well. It was entertaining, if nothing else.

[Also very informative. Also he thinks he fell all the harder for his hasubando somehow--]

[A kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.]

...Hopefully not too enlightening. I'm not sure I like what those stories would say about me.

[tokugawa]

They say... that you were adorably naive sometimes, incredibly charming others, and rather unlucky now and again. 

[a slight laugh]

And it's no wonder at all why I'm so in love with you. 

[insultea]

[...PFFFF. He can't help but laugh at that--

But he just shakes his head, nuzzling closer to Ieyasu.]

Yours say that you are a prince in shining armor--

And I am lucky that you are mine. Perhaps all of that bad luck is being made up for now.

[tokugawa]

[.... ffffff. A quirk of his brow.]

I'll agree with the fact that you are beautiful any day of the week-

But are you volunteering yourself to be my princess?

That's--

...Ieyasu wait--!

[tokugawa]

[.... fffffffff.

A laugh and he kisses Mitsunari then.]

You implied it, not me.

[insultea]

That...wasn't what I intended to imply...

[Mutter mutter oh god blushing.]

[tokugawa]

[Ieyasu will just... softly chuckle and tilt his head.

Mitsunari's always so cute when he blushes.

So Ieyasu merely smiles a little to himself before guiding Mitsunari's chin up for a sweet, lingering kiss.]

For what it counts, I'd love for you to be my princess.

[insultea]

[Mmnn. The kiss almost makes the blush fade away, Mitsunari relaxing into it--

And then Ieyasu's words bring it right back. How does he--

What does he--

How do you react to that?]

I. Ah. That's. Um.

I-Ieyasu...!

[tokugawa]

[... he's entertained but he'll be nice. So he'll just quietly nuzzle Mitsunari's cheek.]

And by that I mean I'm very much in love with you, Mitsunari.

And he just sighs, leaning against Ieyasu.

...and he tries to get his good humor back.]

I suppose if you are my prince, I am your princess--

But I'm not wearing the dress.
