So Mitsunari had gone to Shikoku. Motochika was trustworthy, Ieyasu knew that, and perhaps the best possible person to look after him after everything had been said and done. Somewhere in his heart, Ieyasu knew that it would almost be impossible to forgive him - but he tried anyway.
He'd asked how Mitsunari was every time Motochika visited.
He'd attempted to go to Shikoku himself.
However at every chance he took, Mitsunari eluded him.
Perhaps that was only what was deserved.
So on this particular day, he expects only Motochika to walk through - accompany by perhaps maybe a few of his pirate men or that blue-haired child that he'd somehow picked up.
But somewhere deep in his heart, he still hopes that perhaps this is the time that Mitsunari will come find him.]
