Faces;
[...he's bored.
And amidst his plotting, a bored Norse god is no good.
Lost as he is. Humanized as he is.
It's daytime now, and he paces, able to leave his room but temporarily alone. But he knows Tony has security measures.
He knows it. He doesn't try anything rash. But he does inspect the technology--
And then he makes faces at one of the cameras.

Ha.
Ha. Ha. Ha.]
Do you know what it means to be banished, Stark?
[...
He remains turned away. He has no desire for pity or sympathy--]
You continue to be wrong.
[...That's a weak attempt to divert Tony's attention from that--]
no subject
[He'll type a few things and swipe things onto the panels and then not even turn to face Loki-
So it's because he doesn't know his back is turned to him that he gives a beckoning finger without even thinking about it.]
C'mere for a sec.
Maybe it'll get you to stop pouting for about ten seconds and we'll see if the earth falls off its axis.
no subject
[It's an automatic answer, and he remains turned away from Tony--
And then his brow furrows, and he finally looks at him.]
And I do not pout...
no subject
[But he just continued to make hand gestures to get Loki to just get over there.]
Just stop being difficult for thirty seconds and let yourself give in for once?
no subject
Fine. Fine. I would so regret crossing my host.
[:T
But he does step forward, sipping his drink.]
no subject
Leaving just one.
A document of dates and events surrounding the destruction of a small town by something so cleverly named-]
I'm just saying that The Destroyer has to be the most boring name for a giant metal monster thing that blows stuff up I have ever heard.
[And turning to Loki.]
Please tell me you've picked up on how to scroll by now.
[Because it's a pretty lengthy document, ngl.]
no subject
[...just saying. Loki would do better--
But he doesn't reach forward. He doesn't scroll.
He has no desire to see any more.]
What is your intention here? If you intend to impress me with the depth of your knowledge, I fail to be so.
no subject
[But he merely rolls his eyes again and settles for scrolling on his own, closer to the end and an audio file pops out.]
Your brother is a blabbermouth that doesn't realize that SHIELD is quite fond of keeping track of almost everything we do.
We were having a little chat in the bridge one day and he went ahead and said this-
Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother.
[Another gesture and he cuts the audio file off. Then it's a shrug and a questioning brow.]
Now please stop throwing a hissy fit and be good so he can think you're reformed and take you off my hands.
no subject
It's been wearing to be on Earth, wearing to be around this man, wearing to not have his abilities, his powers--
To not have anywhere to return to.
He snaps.]
But Thor is not my brother.
[He turns, free fist clenching, the other holding the glass so tightly it shakes.]
Do not concern yourself with that which is not yours to pry into.
I am certain I will not remain here for long.
no subject
[And he makes a sharp gesture at the panels and all of the windows close with that, so he turns, all of his attention now on the angry, angry man.]
But why not?
[He doesn't get- he probably never will since he's never had siblings.
But he's got a best friend who will come get him when he's captured and screwed with, who will smack him around when he's out of line and will sometimes completely ostracize him if he goes too far- how is this different?]
no subject
[A scoff.]
Pry into your cold information. You will get nothing from me.
no subject
And in the end, that's pretty much what's setting this whole thing off. [And why you're still in his tower.] So what's your issue?
This isn't really just "Daddy didn't hug me enough".
no subject
Enough!
[Ah.
His drink is shaking.
Strange--]
Enough.
[A slow breath, and he remains turned away, unmoving--except for the trembling.]
no subject
Tony thinks it's really, really unfair. Loki can press all his buttons and go the long way to get him to break and yet Tony's the one who actually succeeds in finding the trigger point and can't seem to push any further once he realizes what he's done.
Man, it must be great to be the Norse God of Mischief.
In the end, he merely grumbles to himself and heads over to his cooler, pulling the entire bottle of wine from it and he approaches Loki-
Filling up his glass just as he passes to go to the bar.]
Don't think, drink.
no subject
And then he downs the glass, not being too concerned for once with being contrary.
...ugh.
Ugh ugh ugh.
He hates this moment. Very, very much.]
no subject
[Did at home?
Nah, okay, have some tact, Stark.
Even as you figure out if this guy deserves it.]
What you're used to.
[But he'll just sit himself at his bar, staring out at the skyline as he.... thinks.
And wonders in which universe this is fair.]
no subject
And then he falls quiet, stepping over to accept another glass.
And a twitch of his mouth.]
I have always considered it a brutish habit.
[...]
There is no need to tiptoe around me as if I shall break. I have not broken yet. Or perhaps--
[...or perhaps he already has. But--]
It does not suit you.
no subject
[But he'll refill Loki's glass without question. He offered, which doesn't make it subservient.
It's just being a good host.]
no subject
Is it all a facade then, Tony Stark?
[just saying. if you're pretending--
Consider it curiosity.]
no subject
[Tony has more of his own drink to punctuate the end of that question.
He's not sure which facade Loki means. It doesn't really matter to him. He's stopped questioning whatever he feels like doing.
Even when half the world tells him to think more on his actions.]
no subject
Hm.
Perhaps.
[Another sip of his drink, and he falls silent. He honestly...doesn't have that much to say at the moment. He has too much to think about.]
no subject
But what else can he say?
So he says nothing, only having some more of his drink as he looks out of the window and into the city landscape before them- still rebuilding as it is.
He nudges the bottle that is set on the counter closer to Loki- right in the middle of them.
'Serve yourself,' he means to say. But he doesn't.]
no subject
He notes the action. But he is taking this glass much more slowly.
He sips.
And after a long moment, he speaks again, voice quiet.]
You are likely correct. [A first, that he would say so--]
Thor will realize his mistake.
[But he does not hope for it.
Because going back to Asgard in captivity is not going home.
And he falls silent again. He's not fishing for pity, and he intends to make that clear--]
You will not have to suffer through my company for much longer.
no subject
But Tony is surprised when Loki speaks again, glancing over curiously because alright, he's... curious. It's not every day that he gets close to leading to a former god's mental breakdown.
It's not as if Thor was nearly so intricate.
His answer comes after he drinks some more.]
You're going to have to deal with whatever's eating at you, either way. No matter where you are.
[He knows that much pretty well.]
no subject
[A faint chuckle, perhaps faintly unhinged.]
And I attempted to 'deal with it'.
[...his attempt to deal with it was to prove to his father that he could live outside of Thor's shadow.
...ha. He drinks.]
