[And so there was another day of their planning for the wedding-
Another day where Matsu dragged Mitsunari around while Ieyasu watched helplessly and stood around with Toshiie who gave him advice on how to help when he did find a way to help.
At least now they were back home and Ieyasu's arm was securely around Mitsunari's waist.
So they entered the apartment and he pressed a soft kiss to the top of Mitsunari's head.]
Home sweet home...

Home sweet home...

But he holds his tongue.
A soft chuckle.]
Semantics, sweetheart.
no subject
But Mitsunari just pauses.
Hm. Yeah. Okay. A yawn and--]
Of course, there were the suits and fittings.
[...He liked that part. Seeing Ieyasu in a suit--]

[Just curiosity.
But eventually he does come back in with the tea for his waifu- his favorite kind.
Gingerly offering it now.]
no subject
[Snerk. But he just finally sits up, accepting the tea and breathing it in for a moment. And he finally relaxes fully, offering Ieyasu a tired smile.]
Thank you.

[Kumiko always went on about that but he never really got the specifics. Nonetheless, he chuckles faintly as he sits down next to Mitsunari. His arm stretches across his fiance's shoulders and lightly plays with his hair.]
Think nothing of it.
I'm always here for you. I'm just sorry I'm not very useful.
no subject
You speak as though I'm being useful in this.
[But he just quietly reclines on Ieyasu's arm.]
no subject
[a soft sigh and he buries his face in Mitsunari's hair]
A shame. I thought Kumiko's wedding would prepare me more for this.
no subject
It seems as though it's something you aren't prepared for until you're doing it yourself...
[And he sighs.]
...What a nightmare planning this all is...
no subject
If it's so difficult, we don't have to...?
A simple ceremony can be arranged.... though of course, you deserve only the best, so I thought-
[asd;jladf tongue-tied]
no subject
Mitsunari just reaches up to bury a hand in Ieyasu's hair, smiling.]
I am looking forward to the end result of all of this planning--for more than one reason.
...Admittedly, I think a lot of it is just because of my inexperience with these things...
no subject
[... a soft hum and he buries his face in Mitsunari's hair]
To be honest... I hadn't ever expected to be married at all.
no subject
Truly? But...You are so much happier when you are with other people.
[It's hard to imagine hasubando not marrying ever.]
no subject
[A soft laugh and he lifts his head to meet Mitsunari's eyes, tilting his head slightly.]
Indeed I am, but I would hate to place someone under the burden of having to deal with... everything in my life. My attention is always in different places, my family situation is messy at best, and I never found someone that I would cherish enough that I would never let go-
[... a soft, almost hesitant kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.]
Until I met you, anyway.
no subject
...]
I am forever grateful that you changed your mind.
no subject
After I met you, it was impossible not to...
no subject
Regardless...I am still grateful.
We will get through all of this planning, Ieyasu.
no subject
As long as you want to... of course we will.
[chuuuu~]
But... now I'm curious. Was marriage always in your life plan?
no subject
I gave it some thought in college. The idea of spending the rest of your life with someone you love is appealing...
But then I got busy.
[...ha. It's kind of the story of his life. He just cuddles closer to Ieyasu.]
And I stopped thinking about it.
no subject
Sensible, as always...
no subject
Sometimes...if I think too hard about it, I'm surprised that I got lucky enough to have all of this...
I'd given up expecting it.
no subject
That gives him pause for a moment before he settles for shaking his head softly, resting his head atop Mitsunari's.]
I had done much of the same...
But nonetheless, I am nothing short of eternally glad to have found you.
no subject
...Now that I am with you, I look back and wonder how I could have ever thought I could live my life without getting married.
It seems as though you changed everything for me.
[Heh.]
no subject
Before... I thought my life was perfectly blessed- I had excellent close friends and I knew plenty of people and had opportunities to know more. I thought for certain that I would be perfectly happy with that for the rest of my life...
But now... [hmm] I could never go back to that....
I couldn't go back to life without you.
I... look forward to being married- that way, I will know... that you will be there every step of the way and I will wake in the morning to find you next to me.
no subject
Mmnn.]
Always. Every single morning.
And it makes me look forward to every single day, knowing that...
Thank you, Ieyasu.
no subject
No...
To make it fair... thank you as well, Mitsunari.
