Another day where Matsu dragged Mitsunari around while Ieyasu watched helplessly and stood around with Toshiie who gave him advice on how to help when he did find a way to help.

At least now they were back home and Ieyasu's arm was securely around Mitsunari's waist.

So they entered the apartment and he pressed a soft kiss to the top of Mitsunari's head.]

[A soft laugh and he lifts his head to meet Mitsunari's eyes, tilting his head slightly.]

Indeed I am, but I would hate to place someone under the burden of having to deal with... everything in my life. My attention is always in different places, my family situation is messy at best, and I never found someone that I would cherish enough that I would never let go-

[... a soft, almost hesitant kiss to Mitsunari's cheek.]

Until I met you, anyway.

[...Mitsunari responds quietly at first, merely leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to Ieyasu's lips.

I am forever grateful that you changed your mind.

[A soft sigh.]

After I met you, it was impossible not to...

Regardless...I am still grateful.

We will get through all of this planning, Ieyasu.

[A laugh.]

As long as you want to... of course we will.

But... now I'm curious. Was marriage always in your life plan?

[insultea]

Ha...It never really crossed my mind, to be honest.

I gave it some thought in college. The idea of spending the rest of your life with someone you love is appealing...

But then I got busy.

[...ha. It's kind of the story of his life. He just cuddles closer to Ieyasu.]

And I stopped thinking about it.

[tokugawa]

[... a nod and he just holds Mitsunari closer in response, cuddling his fiance gently]

Sensible, as always...

[...He just rests his head on Ieyasu's chest, and his voice is quiet enough that it's almost as if he's talking to himself.]

Sometimes...if I think too hard about it, I'm surprised that I got lucky enough to have all of this...

I'd given up expecting it.

That gives him pause for a moment before he settles for shaking his head softly, resting his head atop Mitsunari's.]

I had done much of the same...

But nonetheless, I am nothing short of eternally glad to have found you.

[A quiet 'mm' of agreement, and he nuzzles all the closer.]

...Now that I am with you, I look back and wonder how I could have ever thought I could live my life without getting married.

It seems as though you changed everything for me.

[A quiet laugh in response.]

Before... I thought my life was perfectly blessed- I had excellent close friends and I knew plenty of people and had opportunities to know more. I thought for certain that I would be perfectly happy with that for the rest of my life...

But now... [hmm] I could never go back to that....

I couldn't go back to life without you.

I... look forward to being married- that way, I will know... that you will be there every step of the way and I will wake in the morning to find you next to me.

[...ah. He just continues to rest his head against Ieyasu's chest; it makes him smile always to be able to hear him laugh while he does.

Always. Every single morning.

And it makes me look forward to every single day, knowing that...

...Then tomorrow we will brave Matsu's enthusiasm once again.

Toshiie's been helping me a bit... though admittedly I think Matsu has already decreed that I am unfit to help make any decisions.

I think she likes me for reasons I am not yet certain of.

Perhaps this is still a ploy to get me to eat more of her cooking though.

[ALWAYS WITH THE FOOD he is not that dainty is he--]

Matsu's cooking is always simply phenomenal.

I simply cannot eat as much as she thinks I ought to--

What do you expect? She feeds Toshiie and Keiji all day-

And Keiji's a bit of a giant.

[.....ffft. He just chuckles quietly as well, shaking his head against Ieyasu's chest.]

Mmn. I'm afraid I can't keep up with that family at all...

They're just... very, very enthusiastic about love. Keiji would always be the one that I spoke to about it- he'd be the only one willing to entertain me.

[insultea]

[He chuckles at that too.]

Keiji...hmm. What sorts of things did you talk about?

[...YEAH HE'S CURIOUS, SO SUE HIM.]

[A thoughtful pause. What did they talk about...?]

Why I didn't have a girlfriend at the time.
