withhishead: (A golden egg of opportunity falls)

work;

The truth was that they were often busy.

As idols, their schedules ranged from working the typical singing and dancing routines to practices, to lyrics writing.

And that was only their STARISH schedule. The truth was, they also had their own careers that they were focused on pursuing, and these careers refused to wait. Interviews, modeling, shows and photo shoots--it really, really never seemed to end.

Ren enjoyed the attention, certainly, and he enjoyed being in the spotlight. He enjoyed variety shows and walking down the catwalk, and he enjoyed getting to be on the cutting edge of fashion practically all the time.

What he didn't enjoy was waking up at 6 in the morning for all of these things. He was not a morning person. And he was not pleased that he was out the door before Masato was, even, the other watching him with a tilted head as he stumbled blearily out the door, lunch at least tucked under his arm. He had no idea how Masato woke up this early every single day (it probably helped that Masato didn't stay up past midnight, though).

Still, by the time he got to eat said lunch (rapidly, in a short break between shoots), he was already struggling to keep his eyes open. Sure, the interviews were interesting enough to keep his eyes open, and the shows were always adrenaline inducing, but the moment he stepped off that stage, he was leaning against the wall, stifling a yawn.

By the time he made it home, much later than he would have liked, he was yawning nearly constantly. He stifled another as he opened the door, pulling off his shoes and putting them away with a vague sort of neatness, if only so Masato wouldn't have to deal with it in the morning. That was all that managed to be on his mind, as the rest was quite taken up with sleep.

He sat on the couch only temporarily. Just long enough to take a quick break.

Of course, Masato stumbled upon him passed out there a few scant minutes later, having been woken by the door closing. He rubbed an eye blearily, shaking his head in faint amusement. And then, crouched in front of the couch, he gently nudged Ren's shoulder.

"Ren," he murmured, amused. "You can't sleep here."

Ren's response was to mumble, burrowing more deeply against the couch. Masato arched an eyebrow at that--he must have really been tired--and proceeded to simply sigh.

"I can't carry you to bed," he told the prone form frankly, though Ren clearly could not hear him. While that could have easily resolved the problem had their roles been reversed... well, there simply had to be another solution. No point in wishing after what would never happen.

And so Masato huffed a sigh, but leaned forward to press his lips to Ren's cheek, trying to wake him up this way instead, for once. It was still rare for him to be this affectionate, but...well, whatever would work. He was prepared to do a number of things to get Ren to come to bed with him so they could both sleep--

What he was not prepared for was Ren reaching out, eyes still shut, clearly still asleep, and wrapping his arms around Masato and tugging him closer, automatically.

Of course, he was still asleep, and so his aim wasn't great--and he was unaware that Masato was crouching in front of the couch. And so when he pulled him closed, Masato flailed forward, face first into the front of the couch.

"Mmph," he said.

Ren didn't appear to hear him, though his brow did furrow slightly at the fact that there was no warm body against his, despite his attempts to tug Masato closer.

Rather desperately, Masato wriggled himself out from between Ren's grip and the unyielding front of the couch, managing to get back on top of the couch. Of course, that meant that Ren only dragged him closer, but at least he could breathe this way.

"We still can't sleep here," Masato informed his passed out boyfriend.

Ren responding by tucking his face into the crook of Masato's neck, sighing contentedly. Masato paused at that. It was distinctly unfair that Ren was so cute in moments like these, because he was rather weak to that, and that was just unfair all around--

But ultimately, he just sighed, curling a little closer to Ren as well. And before dozing off, he said quietly, "Don't come complaining to me when your clothes are wrinkled in the morning..."

He missed the way Ren's lips quirked into a smile at that, already dozing off in his arms, but that was probably for the better.
