[She's probably right about that, but admittedly, he doesn't really think that's any of his concern. Sometimes his missions would allow him to protect innocent people who couldn't protect themselves. Sometimes he was assigned to protect less savory sorts. It was out of his control, which was why this is so, so important.

He straightens a bit as if that will make him taller, and is disappointed to realize it does not. And also to realize that now that she's facing him, she definitely is taller.

Damn.]

There is not always the luxury to choose one way or the other... though I suppose in an ideal, perfect world, the former would be the best option.

The world is rarely that way, however.
