Fluff;
fluff scenario
1. Sick day. You're down with the flu or some injury. Whatever the reason, you're bedridden or at the hospital. Aren't you lucky that that special someone came to visit you?
2. Date night. You've made special plans to show that special someone just how much you love them and nothing can go wrong tonight.
3. Cheer up. One or both of you is feeling down and it's time to get out of that slump by either finding a way to distract yourself or talking it out with the other person.
4. Love confession. Your stomach is doing flip flops and your heart is racing, but you've read all the signs right, and it's time to let that other person know you feel the same way.
5. Special gift. Maybe it's the first time, or maybe this is the gift that really counts. Birthday, Christmas, or just a random present, you've been planning and saving up for this one and are hoping that special person will like it.
6. Last time (for awhile). One of you is going away for some reason (it can be as simple or angsty as you want it to be) and you may be back or you may not, but you want to spend the time you've got left where you are with someone special.
7. Pillow talk. You've just had fantastic sex (which playing out is optional!) and you're both content to lay back and enjoy a little bit of pillow talk or maybe go for round two as soon as you catch your breath!
8. Shared dessert. Whether it's because you're both cheap or you're one of those cute, lovey-dovey couples who love sharing desserts, the two of you are sharing that delicious ice cream sundae or cake with one another. Did some of it get on your partner's nose? Or maybe you want to go ahead and take a bite out of the cookie sticking out of their mouth.
9. Need a friend. You just want to hang out with the guys/girls and have a little fun.
10. I'm sorry. You had a fight with someone and now it's time to kiss and make up. . . or at least make up.
11. A moment at home. There's nothing better than enjoying a peaceful day without anything to worry about. Maybe you'll share a book with a friend, or just enjoy some tea and catch up.
12. Been so long. You're back after a long trip somewhere and now it's time to meet up with someone you've missed a lot and make up for lost time!
13. I'll defend you until the end. You're going to fight for that person and you're going to let them know it or show them, whichever comes first.
14. Pillow fight. You're both feeling the need to have some friendly horseplaying, and what better way than with pillows?
15. Wild card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!
physical contact
1. Hugging. You just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. Be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.
2. Kissing. Whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! Be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.
3. Holding hands. It's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. But that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. What the sentiment is is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.
4. Carrying. Is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? Do they want a piggyback ride? Or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? Whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination (maybe even the bedroom).
5. Dancing. Kick up the music, because it's time to dance! But no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! You can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. Personally, I recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!
6. Massaging. Did your significant other have a rough day? Did they get hurt? Or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? Whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. They'll feel wonderful in no time!
7. Tickling. Does that special someone feel a little tense? Maybe they've been frowning a little too much late? Or maybe you're just feeling a little devilish. Give them a tickle and see what happens!
8. Cuddling. Sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. Hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.
9. Wild Card. Reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!
1 + 1
(Also she didn't knock anything over or break anything. Good day.)
She's walking home, reasonably cheerfully, when she spies...what is a familiar sort of green hair. Oh. Oh, it's...that guy. Lying in the grass as per usual. She probably should carry on (only bad things seem to happen around him) but at the same time...
Is he...wet?
She crouches next to him, reaching out carefully to grab his sleeve lightly. Yep. Definitely wet.]
Ukyo-san...?
[He's going to catch a cold out here like this. Especially now that the sun is going down.]
no subject
None of it was his fault, you see. The body of water attacked him.
But he'd laid down to take a nap regardless, not thinking it pressing enough to grab clothes from his house, Obviously the sun would dry him off - not that he paid any attention to the fact that the sun was already setting by the time he'd settled down.
At least this awakening is much, much nicer than being attacked by water. He's still half-asleep as he blinks his eyes open, the gears in his head only beginning to turn as he realizes that yes, yes he is looking at the love of his life-
And as per custom, he begins to reach out to wrap an arm around her.
Which prompts a rather damp sound.]
.... Mmn?
[ . . . it's slowly starting to click together that the sound came from him.]
Why am I wet?
no subject
She immediately stammers and flails when he tries to wrap an arm around her, but not enough to evade it, and then there's wetness seeping through her dress and it's cold.
So a squeak escapes her, even as she pulls back further. Sorry, Ukyo. She'll put up with a lot for you, even as a stranger/maybe lover???/some sort of acquaintance, but wet clothes all over her is not a thing she approves of at all.]
Ukyo-san! [PLS. P L S.] I was hoping you would know that... [honestly....
also ugh she's wet now, but she can't help but be a bit more concerned about him.]
You remember, don't you...?
no subject
He lets her go without much fight at all (even if he does want to just hold her forever) and slowly but surely he starts to wake up.
Ah. If she's using an honorific with his name then she doesn't know him. Okay. So he's still doing the weird world hopping thing... but also still alive. At this point, the latter is a bit more concerning to him.
But also he's wet.
Why is he wet? Slowly, he repeats the question in a mumble:] Why... am I wet....
[And he's looking around and luckily not too far is the offending pond.
And also a trail of smushed, seemingly dewey grass leading to his currently point because he essentially dragged himself out of the pond, rolled over, and fell asleep again.]
Ah.
I see....
[Galactic Detective Ukyo has solved another case!]
no subject
She also is looking around, following his glance, and honestly when he sees the pond and the trail of mushed grass, it's also not hard for her to put together the pieces.
......At which point she looks extremely concerned.]
If you sleep out in the cold like this--[soaked like a dumbass, she means]--you could get sick...
[and that would be awful for anyone, she thinks, no matter how well she knows them.
well, there's really nothing for it but to fix this issue. (Is he a hobo? The world may never know.)]
Do you have a place to dry off, Ukyo-san?
[Okay, so she might be trying to find out.]
no subject
.... which is around the time that he realizes that he's talking to Mai. He put his arm around Mai. He got Mai's clothes all damp because he couldn't control himself right when he woke up and-] Ah!!
[Don't mind him if he's suddenly standing straighter as he starts to ramble.]
Y-Yes! Don't worry about it, Mai.... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get you wet too. [and his own nose is starting to run a bit] You should definitely head back home and take some medicine! Don't be stingy about it. [sniff] A cold could really hurt your work schedule and you should be wary of catching something bad! Like pneumonia! You could die from that...!!
[ACHOO]
.... excuse me, what was I saying - oh! And dying from pneumonia would be bad!
[COUGH
sniffle]
no subject
Also wow he's so tall now that he's straightening up--she straightens as well, craning her neck up to look at him. And. Stares at him for a moment.
Jiiiiii.]
...It sounds like you've caught a cold.
[Jiiiiiiii]
Do you have medicine?
[she doesn't believe he does. Or necessarily that he has a place to dry off in. Or that he's got a change of clothes. Or that he'll take care of himself.
Long story short, she sure is standing there staring at him with an expression that clearly says that she doesn't intend on leaving until she's satisfied.]
no subject
Medicine.... No....
[ . . . which might work out in his favor, actually. Could he die just like this? He doesn't think he's died from a cold yet. That would be new. Not that he wants to start coming up with a bingo sheet for deaths or anything. That's just morbid.
Except now that he's coming out of his own head and paying attention to her, he recognizes that look. Oh no. She's getting Determined and that never ends all too well for him and his plans.]
I mean...
No... possible way that I couldn't! A camper needs to be prepared, after all. [clearing his throat!] Ah... I have that... one generic prescription for colds. It's very effective. [cough] In fact, I believe I should retrieve it. [sniff] Right now, in fact.
[except it's getting dark and he can't trust himself to walk her home but he can't just leave her]
If you'll be okay?
no subject
She purses her lips, holding her bag's strap a little tighter. Honestly! Does this man have no self-preservation instincts at all? She can't just leave him here like this. He might just get himself sicker, and he already looks so terrible.]
... Do you really have something for your cold, Ukyo-san?
[Be honest with her. Because she looks super skeptical, but she's also really worried, and she doesn't want to leave him when he's clearly this sick already. It'll probably only get worse from here.]
no subject
No, but... I really shouldn't be around you for much longer. I can go to the store and grab something if it gets really bad.
[What do you call your paling complexion and rising temperature, Ukyo?]
It'd be dangerous for you to stay with me any longer, even if I'm weaker like this. I'm afraid that might just make it easier for... [for his other side to take control, but she wouldn't understand and he doesn't want her to. so he trails off.
Still, he can't help but smile softly]
The fact that you're worried about me at all makes me really happy... but it's dangerous to be this kind to me.
['It might make me love you more.']
no subject
She has no idea what's going through his head, honestly. But what she does know is that he's asking her to leave him behind when he has shown not an ounce of self-preservation instincts and he's already clearly sick. And that's not something she's willing to do, even if he asks it of her.
So she shakes her head and takes a step forward. It's invading his personal space a bit, and she feels a little bad about it, but not enough to stop.
And uuup on her tippy-toes to try to take his temperature with her hand.]
...Let's go to the store together. [Because she doesn't trust you with your health anymore, somehow] After all, it isn't that far...
[It's not really that far out of her way (as if that's what he's concerned about).]
no subject
But when her hand actually touches his forehead, he freezes and stills himself. It takes every fiber of his being to resist just leaning into her touch. Because all he wants to do is be close, so close to her-
Already, he can feel his resolve weakening as he meets her eyes. There's no denying the sadness in them, because he knows he's taking a risk. He knows that he might hurt her, but so long as they keep to the populated streets, it should be fine, shouldn't it? It should be fine, if he gets to spend just a little bit more time with her.
So he smiles softly.]
It's always so hard for me to say no to you...
But to think that you'd go to that extent - it makes me... [so happy, fall in love with you more, wish that you remembered me]
Just this much should be okay.
no subject
... But for now, if he says "Just this much should be okay", she'll have to go along with it. She might be able to convince him of more later, after they get the medicine, but for now she just nods firmly.
Alright... they'll go to the store. She steps back to give him his personal space back, feeling a little awkward and sheepish about invading it in the first place all of a sudden, before she shakes it off to instead focus on this.]
Ah...you definitely have a fever... [Obviously.] We should hurry to the store.
[And she'll try to figure out what to do from there, on the way.]
no subject
If you insist. We need to take the busy streets, though.
[Just to be safe.
But regardless he's taking a tentative step forward, doing his best to ignore the squish that comes from his still incredibly wet person. In all honesty, he can't help but make an incredibly displeased face.
Quietly, he reflects:]
... I should've changed clothes.
[You think?]
no subject
She can't help the vague exasperation, because not only did he not change, but he thought napping outside would be wise too......why. But honestly, it's exasperation borne of a lot of concern, so what really shows on her face is that concern.
She glances at him to the side, biting her lip for a moment before finally speaking.]
...You should get dry as soon as possible, so you don't get even worse.
[The store's not far, so it's okay, right...?]
Um--do you have everything else you'll need? [Soup, tea, the works--she's already thinking over what a sick person needs.]
no subject
[Though he does entertain the thought that if he doesn't actually take any medicine, he might be? And he's not sure if he wants that or not yet. It's still something worth considering. Perhaps this could be the last time that he sees her in this world....
That wouldn't be too bad.]
As for everything else...
[What does a sick person need? Probably food, tea, a warm bed-
What does sick Ukyo need?
Probably a change of clothes and a box of tissues. In which case-]
Yes, I believe so.
no subject
I'm glad you're not dying, Ukyo-san.
[It would make her sad if he was, strange or not. (and questionable.)
...but if he says so, she has no reason to believe otherwise, so she has to go along with it. Medicine first, then. When they make it to the drug store, she walks in, peering around.]
Maybe over here...
[It's been awhile since she's looked for medicine, okay...probably since last Shin or Toma got sick.]
no subject
He's genuine to the point that he's surprised by her words and it shows by the fact that he actually stopped walking for half a second.
She's glad that he's not dying?
Would she still be glad when she realizes that he needs to die for her to live?
Or would she hate him? Would she think that if he loves her so much, why isn't that he dying already? Why isn't he throwing himself into traffic? Why is he going against his own love by putting her in jeopardy by walking with her like this?
However he recovers enough to continue walking with her, though he remains silent.
Upon arriving at the drug store, he breathes out quietly.
Soon, he will take her home and leave her and she will be safe from him.
And perhaps later, in a few days, she will forget about this and he will die. However he knows now that he can't die today - he can't die tomorrow either. He can't die until she's busy with something or someone else. But as soon as she forgets, he will be gone completely.
Distantly, he answers her:]
Maybe.
[And then he looks over at her and remembers when he reached out to wrap an arm around her-]
Are you alright though? Would you like me to buy you a new jacket? Who knows what germs could've been in that pond - you really shouldn't take the risk of encountering them. You could fall ill even worse!
[and he's already a bit out of breath after that much, which is probably testament to how sick he is, but he still tries-]
We should get medicine for you too. But I'll pay - who knows? You might need to take the bus and if you use too much money here then you might have to walk home alone while it's dangerous and run into a suspicious character on the street!
[that's a whole lot of information at once
also are you sure that you're not the suspicious character here, ukyo]
no subject
After all, she knows so little about him.
Of course, she isn't given long to ponder before he starts talking, and she pauses mid-reaching for some cough drops to blink at him, expression rather bemused and concerned.]
A-ah... Ukyo-san...
[breathe for a moment, hobo-kun. To get him to do just that, she's going to push the cough drops into his hands. They're honey flavored. It seemed like the best option of the lot to her.]
I'll be fine, so please calm down. [DON'T PANIC in the middle of the store... over nothing...???] I'm already dry.
[she spreads her arms to show him; thankfully, he only got her damp, so the walk and everything was enough to mostly dry her. Enough that she's no more than a little damp, anyway.
and then she goes back to her task. Cold medicine, cold medicine...]
no subject
. . . ]
Ah... okay. I'm calm.
[he's been calm this entire time, you see, he was just pointing out possible AWFUL SCENARIOS that could happen to her. Admittedly some of these awful scenarios he hasn't even seen happen yet, but given her luck, they're still likely.
So he's just going to stand there, holding the cough drops as he watches her.
It's funny, he thinks.
He was supposed to go shopping with her on the day of the fire. Admittedly, they were going to look for a mirror then, but still. It probably would've gone like this. Her zipping around ahead of him while he just waits patiently.
Quietly, he adds (perhaps after too long of a pause to still be considered part of the last conversation):]
Just please take care of yourself.
no subject
And then she looks at him and smiles quietly.]
I'm more concerned about you... you don't take care of yourself very well, do you, Ukyo-san?
[It's something that she...is realizing really very rapidly, actually!!
She puts the smaller bottle back, returning to him to offer him the other she picked out.]
no subject
Ah, I'm not the type of person that you need to be concerned about.
[But still he takes the bottle from her and directs his fond smile down at it, trying to restrain his affection. Though it does continue to be difficult if only because even though he's only a stranger to her - a stranger who says strange things and is probably very, very suspicious - she still cares. She's always this caring.
In the end, she is always the same and so he will always love her.
He can't help but smile at her a moment later, though he's at least hoping he got rid of the hearts in his eyes.]
Like I said, it's not as if it hurts as badly as dying... so really, I'm okay.
no subject
...As for whether or not he managed to get rid of the hearts in his eyes, well, that's not necessarily the case. But she's a little used to that from him, even if it's strange. So she doesn't second guess it too hard.
Mostly.
Instead, she smiles back--which instantly wavers at his words. Honestly, she doesn't want to think about dying at all.]
It isn't a matter of that... [really now.] I would rather not see you suffering at all.
[She looks at him thoughtfully, head tilted, eyes wide.]
Wouldn't that be better?
no subject
... for someone like me, maybe not.
[Because he needs his retribution. For letting her die the first time. For failing her other times. And for being the one to kill her so many, many other times.
Which helps bring him back to earth as he realizes that he needs to get back soon. So he shakes his head and says surprisingly firmly:]
We should go now though. The longer I'm with you, the less safe it is.
[And he opens his eyes and moves to take a step forward-
Except his head is starting to enter that fog and so he nearly falls right over but he manages to catch himself, fumbling with the items in his hands as he heads toward the cash register.
... and then he's just going to keep walking like nothing happened.
Yeah.]
no subject
Well she's not given a lot of time to consider those words, because then he's almost falling over. She immediately jumps forward, reaching for him, expression rather horrified and concerned.]
U-Ukyo-san--!
[...oh he caught himself.
But guess who hasn't caught herself. Yeah, this protag. She's as klutzy and unfortunate and accident-bound as always. Which means that as she tries to stop her forward momentum, the toe of her foot gets caught under a loose floorboard (how did that happen?) and then she's falling.
Probably right into him, honestly.
